Our talented students across all grade levels have been busy exploring, how simple shapes can build incredible art! From triangles and circles to complex geometric patterns, see how our young artists are bringing their creativity to life! Thank you, Mr. Slack for teaching them how to be artists!

Our fourth graders had a blast visiting the Greensboro science Center. They kicked off the day with an exciting demonstration on insulators and conductors - learning all about how energy flows! Afterward, they got to explore the exhibits and get up close with some amazing animals! Field trips like this make learning stick! Check out our excited, scientists in action!

Our kindergarten students in Ms. Fulton's class turned into shape detectives as they went shopping for 3-D shapes around the room. They discovered that shapes aren't just in math class- they're all around us every single day! From rolling spheres to stacking cubes, cylinders, cones, and prisms, our little learners mastered some big geometry vocabulary!

In honor of National Fire Prevention month, our firefighters visited Ramseur Elementary to teach us all about fire safety! Our students learned crucial safety tips on what to do in an emergency and even got a front row look at a real fire truck. We are so grateful for our local heroes keeping our community safe check out our excited students in action below.

Our fifth graders are leveling up their literacy skills by conducting research and transforming their notes into well-crafted informational texts! Building critical, thinking and writing skills, one topic at a time!

Our third graders are taking sentence structure into their own hands! By deconstructing complex sentences and building them back together piece by piece, they're learning how authors structure thought and how to unlock deeper reading comprehension. Building better writers and strong readers, one sentence at a time! Check out our sentence architects at work!

Building readers one day at a time! Small group reading is truly the cornerstone of what we do every single day in kindergarten at Ramseur! Watching these young learners make connections, build confidence and discover the joy of reading step-by-step is the absolute best part of teaching! Beans + math = multiplication magic! Our third graders are diving into multiplication using a tasty, hands-on tool: beans! By arranging them into equal groups and arrays, abstract math concepts suddenly make perfect sense ! Watch out math wizards in the making!

Falling into learning! Miss Fulton's kindergartners were little scientists this week. They explored the wonderful of leaves, discovering that they come in all different shapes and sizes! After an exciting outdoor leaf hunt, our young researchers brought their findings inside to observe, measure and record their findings like real scientists! Students in Ms. Auman's kindergarten class have been exploring the difference between fiction and nonfiction books. After reading a nonfiction book about giraffes, the students brought the facts off the page with a hands-on measurement activity to see how tall giraffes really are!

Our littlest RAMS joined Ms. Rice in the media center to read "I'm Trying to Love Spiders" and then created their own spider! The spiders can be found crawling up the wall in the media center!

We love our community partners! Through our close partnership with the Ramseur Public Library every grade level visits the library twice a year. Here are some photos of our second graders during their recent visit. They listened to a fun story, Cook-a-Doodle-Doo, and then had a blast participating in an interactive activity, finding items around the library! Thank you Ramseur Public Library for helping foster a lifelong love of reading in our students!

Our 3rd graders dove into the world of science this week using Discovery Education to build their understanding of solids, liquids and gases through interactive slides, and multimedia activities. Our young scientists worked with the digital tools to explore complex science concepts in an engaging and visual way! Great job 3rd grade!

Our RAM students across all grade levels had an absolute blast with the parachute in PE class this week! While making giant waves and popping "popcorn" is always a favorite, this unit is about so much more than just fun! Parachute play is a fantastic way for our students to build essential life skills, including teamwork, cooperation, communication and motor skills!

Our kindergarten students start every morning with Heggerty Phonemic Awareness lessons! Through quick listening games and hand motions, students are learning how to blend, segment, and play with sounds! They are building the foundation to become confident readers!

🌎✨ Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! Our 5th graders are excited to be learning about Hispanic Heritage Month! This week, students explored several Hispanic countries and discovered what makes each one unique. We learned about the landscapes, traditional foods, cultures, and customs of different countries while gaining a deeper appreciation for the rich diversity and heritage found throughout the Hispanic world. It has been an exciting week of learning, exploring, and celebrating different cultures!
